bob junior, wears many hats, Chilean/Norwegian drummer, co-producer/co-writer and brother of boy pablo. After meeting backstage at a festival in Mexico – bob junior and Alfie Templeman hit it off and stayed in touch, eventually reconnecting in London. With a shared love of off-kilter indie pop and a strong psychedelic vibe there was strong chemistry musically from the first synth riff. Today, they release “No One Does It Better Than You,” a left of center trip of a pop tune where Alfie’s penchant for catchy love songs shines in Esteban’s production.

bob junior spoke on the collaboration with Templeman saying, “I hit up Alfie while being in London to see if we could make a little something special together. He had a couple of hours free before going to a concert. We spent most of our time hanging out and eating way too much at Five Guys.

When we got to the studio, we started out with the drum beat, and since we both are fans of chords (lol) we tried to make it interesting and a bit non-traditional. Alfie laid down the bass that gave me a good Billy Jean vibe. 6 months went by, I flew over to London again, went to Alfie’s house and finished up the track there.

“No One Does It Better Than You” follows “All In Vain,” a collaboration with LA indie pop band Inner Wave, and “baby, i do” and “ikwydls” which were results of collaborations with indie pop artists Dent May and Paul Cherry. These songs are among the first in a series of songs that focus on collaboration and the joy of creation.

Esteban Munoz was dubbed “bob junior” from a young age by his family for reasons that he’s still not entirely sure about. The Munoz family, who are inclined to nickname its members, calls Bergen, Norway home but their roots are in Chile.
