Skott Announces Roses N Guns Album
Skott has a new single and video “Hail Mary.” The new music arrives alongside the announcement of her forthcoming album Roses N Guns, available March 3 via Cosmos Music.
Says Skott of the album – “It’s a prayer of desperation, a long shot in the dark, a hail mary pass from the far end of the field when you have nothing left to lose,” shares Skott on the inspiration for the new single. “It’s your last chance for something or someone and you have to go all-in, like it’s now or never. The lyrics are layered with references to American football and spirituality, tied to the feeling of grasping for something that’s slipping away between your fingers.”
Roses N Guns follows the recent release of Skott’s EP A Letter from the Universe, which Skott describes as the moon to the planet that her forthcoming album sits on. A body of work that experiments with new dynamics and emotions to conjure scenes of fantasy, drama and science fiction, A Letter from the Universe saw standout track “Overcome” used in Netflix’s original series Young Royals and “On The Verge.”
An indie artist that started her own label Dollar Menu so that she could release new music without having to compromise on her creative vision, Skott’s success is in stark contrast to the small wooded Swedish village of Vikarbyn where she grew up. Known for its traditional customs and own language, her unique way of life and upbringing. Fans of the artist include Lorde.
