Multi-artist has released his new single “Cast No shadow,” a track inspired by the sounds of Joy Division, Nick Cave, The Walkmen and more. The song is available today via streaming services. The track was recorded at 4AD studios in London with producer Jason Boesel (Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis). Mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, England.

from Sasha Papadin:

A couple of years ago I took a solo road trip across the western states of America. In an especially desolate stretch of high desert one night, I realized I hadn’t seen another car in hours. The radio didn’t work and there was no cell reception. The yellow dashes on the road were flashing through the headlights rhythmically and I lost track of time. I must have driven that way for hours. I was in a trance, and suddenly reminded of David Lynch’s ‘Lost Highway’, where the main character enters an altered state and becomes a different person. The longer I drove the more everything and everyone in my life felt like a distant memory, like in the film, and I realized how fragile my sense of time and place was. For a moment I worried years had gone by…. ‘Cast No Shadow’ was inspired by that experience.

“Loverman play like the house band of a lounge bar in the California desert, performing for a late-night crowd of aging poets, femme fatales, and rockabilly kids while David Lynch watches from a corner booth, smoking.”
