Riches is comprised of Catherine McCandless (of Young Galaxy) and Wynn Holmes (choreographer). The two artists combine music, dance and performance. These songs are the first taste of the project, and take a narrative approach to themes concerning the performance of creative rituals, identity, transgression and devotion. “Thief In Your Eye” is Riches’ second single, The duo describe their music as the soundtrack for an imaginary horror film.

Catherine McCandles recently spoke to Gorilla vs. Bear, about the duo’s music. We gave “Thief in Your Eye” a narrative form as we’ve been fascinated with folk horror films. They have been the perfect site for examining the creative process and its inherent powers of transfiguration, love, and destruction. We produced it ourselves, in our own studio and then it was finished with Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes at Breakglass Studio.”
