Lenka will release her new album Good Days on May 29 via via Skipalong Records.Today she shares a final single from the record, “The Balance,” which she collaborated with her fan base on, crowd sourcing the verses.

“This song is a conceptual exercise which began with a call-out to my fan base to request some words. I wanted to know what sparks a positive feeling and what sparks a negative feeling in different people, to try to get to the bottom of what I believe must be a balancing act of dark and light,” notes Lenka on this final single before the album’s release next Friday. “The beatnik-style poetry of the song is then just simply a list of all the words I collected, with a glorious flute solo intertwined throughout, to keep our spirits high. In the end, I am capping off my musings on life with an acceptance that it will continue to be a balancing act of good and bad as I move through this world.”

In 2012 part of her song “The Show” was performed by Billy Crystal at the Oscars. Alfonso Cuarón asked her to write a song for his 2014 drama series ‘Believe’ and her song “Everything’s Okay” became the theme for the U.S. sitcom ‘Splitting Up Together’ in 2018.

Having released her first two albums via Epic Records, Lenka opted to go independent since, releasing through own Skipallong Records. Lenka has also collaborated with Darren Seltmann of The Avalanches, on her 2020 EP, DISCOVER as well as Dave Jenkins Jr. (Daniel Johns, Gordi).
