Party Hardly Share “Have We Got Time”
Northern slackers Party Hardly have just shared their woozy, lackadaisical song “Have We Got Time” – taken from a new cassette due March 23rd on Witchgirl Recordings. The full project comes in the form of a double A-side single called “Have We Got Time/Oh My God.”
Bustling around quirky, chorus-soaked guitars, “Have We Got Time” is a total slacker anthem fueled by whimsical and dangerously catchy pop melodies, sugar-coated harmonies and an apathetic Northern charm. It’s a buoyant, sun-soaked mix of The Beach Boys, Pavement and Weezer distilled through a lo-fi pop filter akin to the PNKSLM spectrum.
In their short existence, the band has developed an ever-growing reputation for their raucous performances, supporting the likes of Bruising, Diet Cig, The Magic Gang and INHEAVEN. Releasing a small number of singles on the way, one of which through DIY heavyweights Art Is Hard.
The band explain that “Have We Got Time” is a lament to growing older and how your life and the people around you change as the years go by, the irony of ‘friends for life’, how easy it is for people to come and go, the loss of teen innocence and the realization that one day we’ll all have to be doing our own thing and getting on with our own lives.”
