“Daydream” by Milk & Bone
Three years after the release of their debut single, “New York”, Milk & Bone return with “Daydream”, the first single from their sophomore effort which is set to be released in winter 2018 via Bonsound. The song delves into waves of comforting ambience and meticulous, textured synths. The duo’s voices are intoxicating, and the melody is heightened by the perfect summer-fling rhythm. “Daydream” was produced by Gabriel Gagnon, the Montreal band’s early collaborator, and mixed by Gagnon and Howie Beck (Feist, Ron Sexsmith, Charlotte Day Wilson, etc.).
Milk & Bone (Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin) create melodies that are both dreamy and harrowing. Made up of electronic textures and layered synths, Lafond-Beaulne and Poliquin’s sonic universe distinguishes itself from the electro-pop genre thanks to their perfectly-paired vocal colours. Their mesmerizing harmonies explore the darker aspects of love, friendship and lust. Their tightly-knit bond, palpable in their creative process and throughout the album, is a key part of their live shows.
