Current Joys share new single “My Shadow Life” Ft. Oddbody
Current Joys have released a new single, “My Shadow Life (Ft. Oddbody).” The new single comes with a video directed by Hypebeast 100 Photographer and Director Julian Klincewicz.
“My Shadow Life” Ft. Oddbody is an intimate, glitchy acoustic track that features pitched up vocals and layers of emotive atmospherics. The album is a notable departure from the typical Current Joys, instead harkening back to his earliest recordings and favoring lo-fi production techniques, and a notable electronic and hip-hop influence, with principal songwriter Nick Rattigan citing the late Lil Peep as a reference point, going so far as to open the album with a cover of “walk away as the door slams.” Notably, the album also features Lil Yachty, Lala Lala, Slow Hollows, and more among its credits.
Current Joys, is the moniker of Nick Rattigan, who is also one of the primary members of Surf Curse. An outsized creative force, Rattigan is a prolific songwriter, producer, performer and music video director, with multiple credits across every discipline. LOVE + POP will be Current Joys’ tenth record in as many years and will be available on vinyl as well as CD and cassette in the fall.
