claire rousay and Helena Deland Share “Deceiver”
Looking Glass is Mexican Summer’s ongoing collection of music and apparel guided by the human condition as reflected through chance and destined encounters, has released “Deceiver,” the new single from claire rousay and Helena Deland .
claire and Helena share the following about the song: “”Deceiver” takes place in the span of an evening during which the shadows of a female friendship are brought to light. Drawing from the clear setting detailed in the lyrics, field recordings taken at a park during the late hours of the evening weave in and out of prominence throughout the song. It’s a plea for kindness in spite of there being no resolution or certainty.”
With previous singles from Destroyer, Angel Bat Dawid, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and many more, Looking Glass serves as a portal for creative exploration and community, inspired by and beyond the present, to resonate through all versions of reality. Mirroring the tenets of Mexican Summer’s ten plus years of supporting adventurous music, Looking Glass looks inward to artists close to the label’s core, and outward to familiar names not far from the family tree, to demonstrate discovery, diversity, and collaboration.
