Chilean / Norwegian producer Esteban Munoz aka bob junior has returned with “forever on my mind. The track follows the release of his debut LP friends vol. 1, which dropped earlier this year via 777 Music. The acoustic love song features Chicago indie pop band The Walters, known for their song “I Love You So.” bob junior’s LP friends vol. 1 features collaborations with Bethany Cosentino, Dent May, Alfie Templeman, Paul Cherry, and more.

Esteban commented on the track saying, “Sweden is a country that always has fascinated me when it comes to music, there are so many incredible writers, artists and bands from there. ABBA, Refused and The Hives are just some of the acts that has really inspired me growing up. I decided to travel to Stockholm for a week to write, and I ended up in a session with a duo I like a lot; Teddy Failure. We spent one day together in their studio and ended up writing this beautiful track.

A few months later while I was rolling out my debut album, I got a DM from Luke Olson saying «would love to do a Bob / Walters collab». Hell yeah. I’ve been listening to their stuff for a while, so I was already a fan. We planned a session while in LA, but first they got sick, then I got sick, then they headed out for a tour and before we knew it I was on a plane back to Norway. We never met up. A total bummer. But then I suddenly remembered this track, tried to imagine it with Luke’s vocals on it and it just clicked in my head. Of course it’s Luke! His voice on this will be amazing.

I sent the track Luke’s way and he absolutely loved it. We did some tweaks here and there, sent stuff back and forth and BAM; we had a song together! I’m beyond stoked and honored to do this with such talented and amazing people. Every track I release is a proud moment for me, this one falls in line with that and will forever be a song I love.”

After spending the better part of 7 years as the mentor, co-writer, co-producer and drummer for his younger brother boy pablo, Esteban Munoz took some time for himself in 2023. He relocated to Los Angeles from Bergen, Norway and started to write and produce music under the moniker boy junior. This project was built on the notion that releasing music should be fun and not limited by marketing cycles, tour plans or deadlines.

Esteban Munoz was dubbed “bob junior” at a young age by his family for reasons that he’s still not entirely sure about. The Munoz family (who are inclined to nickname its members) calls Bergen, Norway home but their roots are in Chile. Munoz’s younger brother Nico is now known the world over by his Munoz family nickname “boy pablo”. Esteban spent many years playing and producing in the Norwegian punk and underground scenes before he helped his brother record his debut single as a 16th birthday present.
