Art d’Ecco Premieres New Video
Today Art d’Ecco is premiering the music video for “Rita Mitsouko”, the third single from his 2016 debut album, Day Fevers, released through YourFace Records. The video, directed by Richard Pyra, is inspired by David Lynch and Vincent Price era horror movies. D’Ecco has listed his francophone roots and, as the track’s title suggests, the 1980s new wave band Les Rita Mitsouko, as the inspiration behind the song.
Day Fevers, released in September of last year, was written on a three-year stint in the Gulf Islands, and was produced by Vancouver’s Jason Corbett of Jacknife Sound. Since its release, the album has reached critical acclaim, the Georgia Straight calling d’Ecco “Brilliantly Bizarre”, and Beatroute calling the album “eyebrow-raisingly good.”
As of late, d’Ecco has taken the Day Fevers record to the live stage where androgyny and theatrics collide, taking audiences to stranger places. D’Ecco’s next show takes place at the Song & Surf Music Festival in Port Renfrew, BC on Sunday February 12th at 8:00pm. Watch the “Rita Mitsouko” video below.
