Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Savino’s long-running Tall Tall Trees project has released “This is Just a Mountain Song,” the second TTT single since expanding to a duo with the addition of Josiah Wolf on drums. One of the highlights of the duo’s upcoming album, Stick to the Mystical I, “This is Just a Mountain Song” was built from an improvisation at Savino’s Galley Tapes home studio.

“Josiah and I laid into this groove and it just felt good,” explains Savino. “We had taken a healthy dose of mushrooms and Josiah was just grooving, grinning ear to ear. I was wrestling with my banjo like an alligator trying to figure out what to do until Josiah said, “Just turn it into what it is…this is just a mountain song.”
