Tennis premiere new track “Easter Island”
Tennis have shared their new single “Easter Island,” “Its dreamy track the two wrote in San Diego that relies on a throwback beat and on Moore’s eloquent lyrics, which were largely inspired by Riley’s passion for sailing.” Explains vocalist Alaina Moore. “Whenever I write a song about something else it takes me months, but when I write about sailing, it practically writes itself.” Tennis begins their full U.S. headlining tour in their hometown of Denver on April 25. see full dates below.
For the album, the band worked in three separate cities with three well-known producers. They returned to Nashville to work with Pat Carney (The Black Keys) on five of the album’s tracks including “Never Work For Free,” and also with Jim Eno (Spoon) in his Austin Studio on “Bad Girls.” Lastly, they worked with Richard Swift (The Shins) in Portland, who collaborated with the band on four songs including “Timothy.”
Tennis is Denver couple Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. The duo began writing music together as a way to document the history of their time living aboard a sailboat. The result was their first release, Cape Dory.
