“Somewhere Else” By Stolen Jars
Brooklyn band, Stolen Jars have shared “Somewhere Else,” a song about feeling stuck in one place, both physically and mentally. In the summer of 2020, vocalists Cody Fitzgerald and Sarah Coffey, and guitarist/co-producer/co-songwriter Elias Spector-Zabusky set out to write a song they could shout along to––”and it still feels good to scream it now,” they say. The resulting track is a liberating ode to connecting with others through the glow of a computer screen, pandemic or not.
“I don’t want to be in this house
Trust falling to catch myself
My blood is slowing me down
Running circles to somewhere else”
Cody Fitzgerald, the band leader, also does film scoring, including for the Disney movie Noelle, for which he co-wrote all of the songs and score. When not working with Stolen Jars, Fitzgerald produces for other artists, including past work with soul-pop band Lawrence, and upcoming songs with Tim Atlas and Aaron Taos. Sarah Coffey, the band’s co-lead singer, has gone viral on Tik Tok, where she now has over where she now has over 200k followers.
