Shygirl ends 2023 with “f@k€”, her new track” featuring Kingdom, the song is out today on all platforms via Because Music. LA-based DJ and producer Kingdom joins Shygirl as the dance track’s electronic beat and delicate vocals bounce around as one. The result is an appeal to the house hits of the 2000s while still sounding uniquely Shygirl. “f@k€” follows last month’s “thicc,” featuring Cosha and produced by Karma Kid and Sega Bodega. Speaking about “thicc”, Shy describes the song as, “Fun and carefree and definitely a tease. All the classic traits of club shy.”

Earlier this year, Shygirl’s debut album Nymph was shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize Albums of the Year and saw Shy receive the AIM UK Independent Breakthrough award. The musician also opened up for Beyoncé for her Renaissance stop in London and released Nymph_o, a deluxe version of her well-received debut album. Nymph_o, features Björk, Tinashe, Arca, Erika de Casier, Eartheater, and more. Fusing experimental pop and deconstructed club music, Shygirl’s debut album Nymph was praised for its intimacy and emotional depth. The album included the tracks “Shlut,” “Nike,” “Coochie (a bedtime story),” “Come For Me” and “Firefly.”
