Paper Idol Covers The Rolling Stones “Miss You”
Paper Idol has shared a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You.” The track is also accompanied by a nifty visual.Paper Idol is the brainchild of Matan KG, former Wesleyan University neuroscience student. It all started in 2016 as a college dance-punk project with a ragtag rotating band, leaving Matan studying by day and collecting noise complaints by night. Inspired by nu-disco as much as art pop and indie rock, Paper Idol offers a rare combination of new-school production and old-school vibes. Earlier this year, Paper Idol released two singles off The EP, “Money For Flowers” and “I’m Fantastic” The Money For Flowers EP is now available via Lowly Records.
From Matan KG:
“I recorded “Miss You” during a solitary quarantine on the central coast of California. My sister had just had her first child in Australia, my dad and younger sister are living in Israel, and my mom is back home in Wisconsin – all I wanted was to be with my family and friends. The cover is super fun and danceable but came from a really lonely place. I hope the track brings some solace to anyone separated from their loved ones.
