Meat Wave covers Wipers’ “Mystery”
Meat Wave have shared their cover of the Wipers’ “Mystery”. “Mystery” is one of seven tracks on the band’s forthcoming Brother EP, the debut release on newly-founded Brace Yourself Records. Meat Wave’s take on “Mystery” honors the song’s Portland punk origins while giving it a caffeinated jolt with a cleaner bass sound and insistent drum work.
A sample of three of the other tracks, “Brother,” “Sham King,” and “It’s Not Alright,” can also be heard. The full EP will be available in the UK and US on January 19, 2015. The band is currently working on a new album to be released in 2015.
The Chicago punk trio will play several hometown shows, including New Year’s Eve with legendary The Muffs, before bringing their rambunctious live show to the UK for the first time in January 2015 to coincide with the EP’s release. A full list of tour dates is below.
