Canadian alt-pop band Le Couleur have shared “À la rencontre de Barbara” the third and last single from their upcoming concept LP Comme dans un penthouse, due out September 22.

With a title translating to “Meet Barbara,” the song fleshes out the album’s main character and her destructive lust for thrills. Featuring guest vocals from Standard Emmanuel, the frontman of fellow Montreal indie rockers Choses Sauvages, the track is another slick slice of retro-futurism from the band. With vocal interplay recalling classic French mod chansons and chord shifts recalling James Bond themes and spy thrillers, the track seethes with a tension at once sexy and unnerving. Le Couleur reconfiguring vintage sounds into a tight, modern tale of suspense.

The music video, fully made in AI by The NNS (Nathan Nardin) and artistic directors Steven Laudat, Alizée Legrain, in the heart of a glittering metropolis, a pair of shoes triggers an enigmatic quest towards an elusive figure. Guided by urban lights, a traveler explores a nocturnal stroll, awakening lost memories and forgotten dreams. As secrets converge, Barbara’s mysterious story unfolds, captivating the viewer between reality and illusion.
