Vancouver singer/songwriter Kylie V has announced their signing with indie record label Royal Mountain Records (Gustaf, Metz, Packs). Their new LP is scheduled to drop this Fall. Ahead of it’s arrival, she has shared single/video “Lucky Streak.” The young artist’s track is a warm and heartfelt, with hope fully more to come soon.

Kylie V “Lucky Streak:”

Kylie on the track, “I wrote Lucky Streak during the excruciatingly complex process of getting over someone, while everything else in my life seemed to be speeding up and getting better at a surreal pace. When I started this song in my notes, I was one one hand feeling lost and empty, and on the other hand it felt like all my dreams were beginning to come true–later in the month I wrote this song I played my biggest venue to date, and then flew across the country for another show. Lucky Streak started as a folky breakup ballad, but as I worked on it with Josh (Eastman, my producer and friend), it began to blossom into what I think is one of my most fun songs, and took on an entirely different significance to me in the process. (Yes, all the four leaf clovers on the cover are real!)”

My friend Luke and his team (First Floor Collective) and I made the Lucky Streak video on two rather cold days in February. We took our tiny crew in his friend Koby’s tiny car all around Vancouver and the North Shore and basically just filmed me full-on sprinting (the video is slowed by a percentage I forgot!). I think our intent by showing me running for the majority of the video was to illustrate how sometimes it can feel like a really exhausting journey getting yourself to the next moment that feels significant. But there’s all this gorgeous scenery on the way, and a party in the sun at the end of that marathon.”
