Following on from the release her debut album Sometime I Forget You’re Human Too, UK artist Amber Strawbridge AKA: Bored at My Grandmas House, is back with a new single “Inhibitions”. The track Mostly written and recorded at home, Amber linked up with Alex Greaves at The Nave (Bdrmm, Yard Act, Working Mens Club) to add the finishing touches. The outcome – a compelling, haunting track that surfs classic indie pop, shoegaze and lo-fi dream pop, voicing frustrations of introspection and claiming inhibitions to be a ‘secret killer’.

“”Inhibitions” is a track that’s a homage to all the over-thinkers in the world” Amber says of the track. “I wrote it from a place of reflection and frustration. It’s about feeling anxious day to day and watching my own inhibitions get in the way of everyday life and the things I want to achieve. It’s a feeling that was new to me and something that I felt I had no control over, written to reflect a time when I didn’t feel like my authentic self.”

Originally from Cumbria, the project was born in 2017 in her bedroom as Amber started recording onto her phone using Garageband until she had saved enough money to upgrade her humble set up. After a couple of years of self-taught production and recording, Amber signed to Clue Records and released her debut EP which sold out two pressings before she had even played her first show.
