Hazel English, has released her version of “California Dreamin'” a cover of The Mamas & The Papas 1965 classic. The track originally appeared as a more intimate demo on the 2020 Polyvinyl benefit compilation Stay Home, and was re-recorded as a follow-up to last year’s debut album Wake UP!

Speaking of the inspiration behind the release, the singer/songwriter shares “Ever since I was a kid, I have always really loved the song California Dreamin’ and the way it evokes such nostalgia and bittersweet feelings. For me growing up in Australia, I related to this idea of dreaming of a faraway idyllic place like California and it’s crazy to think that now all these years later, I consider it my home.”
