Grocer Announce Bless Me LP
Philadelphia band, Grocer have announced their new album Bless Me, will drop on Friday, April 19th via Grind Select (A Beacon School, Dominic Sen) and available on special orange marble vinyl and compact disc. The band will be touring North America throughout the Spring, including a run with Kal Marks and a record release show at Johnny Brenda’s on April 25th. Ahead of the album’s release, the band have shared album track “Packrat”.
Tracked live in their own basement and further realized with mixing help from Nate Amos (Water From Your Eyes, This Is Lorelei), the final product is electric, magnetic, and radio-active. An album that attempts to reckon with the worn out “Thoughts and Prayers’ trope of the American way of thinking, Grocer envelopes a musical ferocity that pushes for change, rather than mere acknowledgement.
Danielle Lovier (vocals/bass) describes the single: “”Packrat” is about feeling stricken with the inability to make decisions and the procrastination paralysis of anxiety. It was our first attempt at opening up our writing process to be more collaborative, and what would ultimately inform the process for the rest of the album. We aimed to focus on the chemistry between us, acknowledging that what we make together has a greater potential than what any one of us can make alone.”
