Dodos Announce Winter 2015 Tour
San Francisco duo the Dodos have announced they will hit the road this winter in support of their sixth full-length album, Individ, starting February 10 in Sacramento, CA and wrapping at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX, March 17-22. Individ will arrive in stores January 27, 2015 on Dine Alone Records (Polyvinyl Records in USA/Morr Music in Europe). Complete dates below.
Individ follows hot on the heels of the band’s 2013 album, Carrier, which found Meric Long and Logan Kroeber performing on The Late Show with David Letterman, along with multiple tours across Europe and North America, supporting Neko Case this spring, and hitting festivals such as Sasquatch, Monterey First City Festival, Music Fest Northwest and Pop Montreal.
Having just wrapped up the sessions for Carrier, and fired up on the level of comfort achieved with brothers Jay and Ian Pellicci at Tiny Telephone studio, the duo immediately began laying to tape the batch of songs that would make up Individ.”The songs came together easily, there was not a lot of questioning, just moving ahead with the feeling that we were on the right track. We were freed up to do whatever came naturally,” says Long. “From the first take of the first song we tracked, things sounded huge and that set the tone for the entire thing.”
The Dodos have a few remaining dates in 2014, including December 12+13 in San Francisco and Los Angeles supporting American Football.
