Swedish artist Jonatan Leandoer Håstad will release their new album, Sugar World, on February 3, 2023 under his artist moniker Jonatan Leandoer96 via YEAR0001 (Viagra Boys, Thaiboy Digital). Along with the announcement, the first single “Blue Light.” The song is accompanied by a Roy Andersson-style fever-dream that sees Leandoer stepping into the role of a life-loving lounge lizard. Clad in powder blue, the way becomes clear – somewhere between melancholy, neurotic self reflection and car-crash romanticism, where, even when the night has been run raw and ragged, a heavy sweetness hangs steady in the air.

Recorded in Denmark alongside Frederik Valentin and Mathias Sarsgaard, Sugar World is the first release from the Jonatan Leandoer96 project in 2022 by the Stockholm-based artist also known as Yung Lean. The single arrives after the Yung Lean mixtape Stardust that was released earlier this year followed by a recently wrapped Starz/Stardust World Tour. The 15-date tour was performed during November and December with stops in Berlin, Paris, London, two nights in Brooklyn, and wrapped in Los Angeles.Yung Lean has collaborated with Travis Scott, FKA Twigs and avant-garde experimentalists like Dean Blunt.
