As W. H. Lung, prepare for their debut headline US tour & ready their third full-length LP. Ahead of their journey across the States they offer a taste of the sound that’s garnered them a reputation as one of the best live bands in the UK. W. H. Lung will play a USA wide headline tour starting at New York’s LPR on 28th September.

Like their live shows, the track finds the band at their most direct. High Pressure Days is a stomp through a busy city, hustling along like a rush hour train behind schedule, the joint vocals of Joseph Evans & Hannah Peace lost running through block after block of frantic drums & squealing theremin. Recorded in the band’s new Manchester studio Futuro House, started with local pals The Orielles & the track’s co-producer Lewis Johnson-Kellett, they’ve crafted a bustling downtown of modulor synths & wayward guitars.

The video, shot in Manchester in a day, sees singer Evans trapped in the corporate rat race – Evans & director Craig Mclaughlin said on the concept: ”The video follows the cyclical white-collar nightmare of Mr. Everyman-office-worker, as he navigates through high pressure days. His life is as stressful as it is banal until an ethereal figure on his computer screen offers him a chance for psychedelic salvation.”

Originally released in 1979 by San Francisco synth-punk The Units, High Pressure Days has always felt adjacent to W. H. Lung’s contemporary take on electronic pop, their cover is a satisfying homage that slips comfortably amongst the band’s previous output.
