Kip Berman on “Home”

“Home” is a reflection on the relationship that began seventeen years ago as a tumultuous and short-lived romance, and grew into a marriage with two children. Written while Berman was touring with The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, it’s the first track that he knew was meant not for Pains, but for a new project. He shares, “It’s an exciting but terrifying feeling. It’s as if my writing moved on from Pains before I could realize what was happening. I opened my mouth one day and heard a different voice. It was mine, but unfamiliar. I didn’t know – and still don’t know – where it’ll take me, but I’m going to follow it.”
