mercury has debuted her latest single “The Fly” today. The track follows previous singles “Swarm The Hive Mind” and melancholic slow-burn “What You Want Me To Say.” “The Fly” “It’s abstractly about a lot of things,” says Maddie Kerr, the architect behind the Nashville-based indie project. “Winning, making mistakes, losing, obsessive love, overthinking love, and being hurt by it.”

The trio of newly-released songs find mercury reuniting with Alex Farrar (MJ Lenderman)  one of indie rock’s most coveted producers with whom she teamed up to record her recent EP “Together We Are One, You And I” earlier this year. A three-track project comprised of “Born in Early May,” “Special,” and “Crick,” Together We Are One, You And I is an experimental voyage of grief, pain, and loss, oscillating between grunge and iridescent indie rock as it wanders through the depths of human suffering and emerge resilient. Infinite black voids, spiritual iconography, and the scarlet glow of embers and flames define the EP’s ambitious companion short film, following a cast of characters from different walks of life through narrative vignettes, contemporary dance, and poetic abstractions.

mercury’s new music arrives alongside the news of a forthcoming North American tour supporting The Backfires in Spring 2025. Kicking off on February 20 in Dallas, TX, the run will see Kerr bringing her colossal live presence to fifteen cities through mid-March. See below for a complete list of dates:
