Following his 2015 debut album 55 5’s, Sporting Life returns today with the release of Slam Dunk Vol. I, the first of a series Slam Dunk EPs for Letter Racer and R&S.

The first release working with BitTorrent’s Discovery Fund for supporting original independent creators, the three volume project will be unveiled across three months and sees the New York electronic producer and Ratking member marrying his love of basketball, manga and music into a seamless blend encompassing instrumentals, remixes, video, and original apparel made by Sporting Life.

Inspired by Takehiko Inoue’s seminal basketball-themed manga series of the same name, the Slam Dunk EP cycle features contributions from Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, Novelist fellow RATKING member Wiki, vocalist Evy Jane, as well as remixes from Actress and Gulcher Lustwerk.

With the announcement of Slam Dunk Vol. I comes the video for first single “Hydrate The Hustle”. Directed by NYC music + visual duo GEORGIA, the potent visual follows Sporting Life through a nocturnal NYC, wearing self-designed sweatbands and jerseys that are available to purchase as part of the project.
