Show Me The Body teases Corpus 2 mixtape + releases “It Burns”

Show Me The Body has returned with new single. “It Burns” is the band’s first official new material since their 2022 album Trouble The Water. The new song arrived with a music video directed by SMTB’s Julian Pratt and Asha Maura. “It Burns” along with the impending tour signify a new movement from the band and the Corpus crew as they announce their forthcoming Corpus 2 mixtape that will serve as the follow-up to their 2017 Corpus I mixtape. Corpus 2 will arrive this Summer and Corpus Grows Tour launches this September.

Following a string of international festivals and shows this summer, their upcoming fall tour will kick off at the end of September with stops in various major cities across the country and festival performances at Louder Than Life, Furnace Fest, Aftershock, and VIVA PHX, Show Me The Body will culminate at the Knockdown Center in Queens for their largest hometown show to date. The band will be supported by High Vis and BIB with additional support from Special Interest, ZelooperZ, Bearcat, and HiTech on select dates. The tour is in partnership with CORPUS NYC, a mutual aid and creative collective that Show Me The Body created in 2015. The collective, which is now based in Queens, began organizing non-traditional, intentional DIY spaces for NYC youth and has grown to a global capacity through its urgent, ceremonial live shows, subterranean punk and hip-hop mixed tours, and the CORPUS NYC platform.

Show Me The Body consists of Julian Cashwan Pratt (founder; banjo and vocals), Harlan Steed (founder; bass), and Jackie McDermott (current drummer). Over the past 15 years, they have released several EPs and three full-length albums: Body War (2016), Dog Whistle (2019), and their latest album, Trouble The Water (2022). The 12-track album was recorded entirely at CORPUS Studios in Long Island City with Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Turnstile, Municipal Waste). Trouble The Water is a homage to the physical city and the New York Sound.
