POND Shares New Single “Paint Me Silver”
Ahead of the release of their new album The Weather, POND have unveiled the spaced-out visuals for their brand new single “Paint Me Silver.” In truly subversive POND style, the Alejandro Miguel Justino Crawford directed animated clip finds an intergalactic dance party erupting across Earth, despite an impending threat of nuclear war. The video accompanies one of The Weather’s biggest pop moments, with falsetto vocals colliding with swirling synths and surf rock guitars.
Tracks from The Weather thus far point toward POND’s most precise and diverse album yet. Album opener “30000 Megatons” flirts with bombastic rock opera, and tracks like “The Weather” and “Sweep Me Off My Feet” occupy the same contemplative and otherworldly realm.
POND have just played the first weekend of Coachella. Following a set at the second weekend of the world-renowned festival, the guys will head out on an extensive US and Canadian tour. They will then celebrate the release of The Weather with a run of European dates, including their largest UK headline show to date at The O2 Forum in London. POND will return to the UK later this summer to play Reading and Leeds Festivals and End of the Road Festival.
The Weather is out May 5th via Marathon Artists and is available to preorder now.
