Nilüfer Yanya announces a new remix EP of her album My Method Actor, now available via Ninja Tune. Due November 22nd, the EP will include remixes of album tracks “Mutations,” “Call It Love” and two interpretations of “Like I Say (I runaway).” Alongside the announcement, she shares a first listen of the forthcoming project with a remix of “Just A Western” from Boy Harsher. The EP will also include remixes by Empress Of, MorMor x Lesser, Jam City and more.

Boy Harsher shares about the remix, “We tried to lean into a Chris Isaak situation here. Nilüfer’s vocals are so smokey and cool but with a hint of sadness and longing. It was a real pleasure to take this apart and put it back together.” Adding to this and speaking on her forthcoming EP Nilüfer shares, “Remixes are a beautiful thing! I find it an interesting challenge to hear the song back in a different way, it always makes me feel at first totally confused and upside down but then I get into it and I’m like wow I could have never ever imagined it this way. Hearing something made out of your own music by an artist you’re a genuine fan of is really special too and I feel like it opens your mind a bit about how you can treat your own music if you want to. As an artist who is not a producer, it’s also a lot of fun getting glimpses into these alternative universes.”

So far, career highlights for Yanya, include supported Adele, the XX and Mitski on tour, headlined London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and sold out shows across Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA. Yanya has also been remixed by Sampha, King Krule and Little Dragon and has collaborated with Bombay Bicycle Club and Liss. Nilüfer is also a founding member of the community project Artists In Transit which takes creative workshops and other support to displaced communities and people in times of hardship.
