“Moonlit and Devious” By Allie Crow Buckley
Allie Crow Buckley has shared “Moonlit and Devious,” the title track from her forthcoming debut album due out March 12, 2021. “This song is a love song!” Allie shares about the vividly desirous “Moonlit and Devious” which leads with an unsettling church organ intro, adding: “Though sonically it takes on a rather menacing feel, I think that illustrates the duality of a relationship well; there’s a sort of moonlit devoted side, and a mischievous and devious side, this push and pull of independence and devotion.” “Moonlit and Devious” follows the previously released single “Nothing Sacred” which was released in January, accompanied by a beautifully shot black and white video directed by Alexis Zabe and Katherina Acevedo.
Buckley has toured with Jenny Lewis and Maggie Rogers. Moonlit and Devious was produced by Allie Crow Buckley in collaboration with Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley, Conor Oberst) and Mike Viola (Jenny Lewis, JS Ondara), and features contributions from Sharon Van Etten (who co-wrote “Gold Medallion”), guitarist Dylan Day (Nick Hakim, Ethan Gruska), and keyboard player Lee Pardini (Dawes, Cass McCombs).
