Singer/songwriter Molly Burch announces the release of her fourth studio album Romantic Images, out July 23rd via Captured Tracks. Along with the news Burch has shared the single “Control,” along with a video directed by Jackie Lee Young and Burch. The track sets the stage for the album’s guiding light: Burch’s radical choice to shed the anxiety and insecurity of her twenties and embark upon a confident embrace of her truest self. The result is an intoxicating collection that prioritizes ecstasy and escape, and forges a joyful soundtrack to liberation. The album also features recently released hit “Emotion” ft. Wild Nothing.

The album was recorded over two weeks at Moore and Riley’s home studio with Burch and her bandmates–guitarist Dailey Toliver and drummer Thom Washburn. Gloria Kaba (Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest), Mikaelin “Blue” Bluespruce (Mariah Carey, Carly Rae Jepson, Solange Knowles), and Heba Kadry (Bjork, Beach House) mixed and mastered the album.

Burch grew up infatuated with classic torch singers like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, which led her to study jazz vocal performance in college. After graduation, she settled down outside Austin, TX, where she recorded her debut 2017 debut, Please Be Mine.
