JW Francis has shared a new video for “MISSISSIPPI,” the unique clip sets his sights on his next life adventure, a wild ride down the great Mississippi River last July 2024. Between tours of the US, UK, and EU to support his forthcoming album Sunshine, available October 11th via Born Losers Records, JW Francis traversed a 2,340-mile trip from Minnesota to Louisiana on his first-ever canoe voyage. Along the way, Francis campinged and performed pop up concerts in local spots while living live along the river. Fans and followers tracked his expedition on an interactive travel map.

“I didn’t know it was even possible to paddle the entire Mississippi River until I heard about other people doing it while I was walking the Appalachian Trail in 2021. When I walked the trail I had never set up a tent before. Now I’m about to canoe the Mississippi and I’ve only ever been in a canoe once. My trail name was Sunshine because I couldn’t stop smiling while I was walking, and it’s also the name of my album coming out in October after this Mississippi adventure.”

JW Francis has an interesting backstory, Born in Oklahoma, and raised in France, Francis started his music career in New York, before taking to the road where he’s lived for the past 3 years. Francis has a special connection to people: he writes over 100 Valentine’s Day songs a year for his fans’ loved ones, and regularly goes on ‘Dream Tours’ where he plays in only unconventional venues like fans backyards, roller rinks, children’s museums and retirement homes, he has toured with Mild High Club and Wild nothing, consistently averaging 100 shows a year.

When not on tour, Francis’ love of nature sees him into various adventures. While hiking the Appalachian Trail a few years ago his fellow hikers dubbed him SUNSHINE, sparking the inspiration and title for his upcoming LP. SUNSHINE, available October 11th on Philadelphia’s Born Losers Records.The latter half of 2015 will find JW touring the US, EU, & UK.
