“Million Dollar Doll” by Britta Phillips

Britta Phillips has shared a new video for “Million Dollar Doll” and announced a run of tour dates supporting Teenage Fanclub. The song is from Britta’s first solo album, Luck Or Magic, was released back in April of last year through Double Feature Records.

Alec Coiro directed the video, which Britta describes as “Blade Runner meets Noir.” Coiro has written seven musicals, created the movie “Fashion Party” which premiered at the Tribeca Grand Hotel and directed music videos for Son Little, The Chapin Sisters, and Rebecca Schiffman. He offered insight into “Millon Dollar Doll,” saying,

“‘Million Dollar Doll’ weaves a very compelling story. For the video, we wanted to stay true to the song’s narrative, but not retell it too literally. We stuck with the song’s theme of following and being followed, and added to that … being under the constant gaze of digital surveillance. We also added an expression of the impulse to resist that gaze.”

Britta will play a solo set on February 18 to open for her band, Luna. Following, she will be joined by Dean Wareham for a run of tour dates supporting Teenage Fanclub.
