Los Campesinos! share “5 Flucloxacillin”
Yesterday, Los Campesinos! premiered the second single “5 Flucloxacillin” from their forthcoming new record Sick Scenes, set for release on February 24 through Wichita Recordings. The album will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally, and can be pre-ordered now in limited bundle format.
Gareth explains the origins of the track from a personal perspective:
“As time ticks by and I become entrenched in my thirties I realise I’ve now spent half of my life medicating and self-medicating for depression, acne, countless viral infections and, worst of all, relentless ingrown toenails. Most everyone I know struggles with their mental health and is trying to cope in whatever way they can, while baby-boomers chastise us millennials for the manner in which we attempt to find solace amidst, and fumble out of the mess they made for us.”
Sick Scenes is the band’s sixth album, arriving after a recording hiatus of roughly three years. The tail end of 2016 saw Los Campesinos! mark their return with a handful of sold out shows, and beginning next month the band will undertake a whistle-stop tour of North America before returning home for a run of UK shows. All shows are all ages, unless stated otherwise.
