Campus Christy includes Chris Manak on vocals (a.k.a. Peanut Butter Wolf) and Brian Ellis on all instruments. Manak knew and admired Ellis from his work with Egyptian Lover, and after several rounds of exchanging music and vocals between Ellis’s home in Escondido and Stones Throw Studios in Los Angeles, the result was their self-titled album Campus Christy, now available via Stones Throw Records (Madvillian, Pearl & The Oysters, Sudan Archives). “Little Wing” is dedicated to Chris’ daughter, Una, who was born around the time of the recording.

“Little Wing” arrives with a music video directed by Aaron Guadamuz who has worked on several videos for Stones Throw affiliates including Madlib, Jonti, and Peanut Butter Wolf. Aaron says: “I was honored to be asked by my old friend Chris to create a video for Campus Christy’s “Little Wing”, a song that has always resonated with me emotionally. It has been nearly three decades since the days Chris and I worked together in the crowded offices of a record distributor called TRC just south of the San Francisco airport. It was a lousy, thankless job but little did I know how it would change the course of my life. The video also serves as my homage to our friendship, the paths we took and our resilience in doing so.”
