Lionlimb Debuts Video For “Runaway”
Lionlimb shares a video for the new single ,“Runaway,” the track is a taste of their new album, Limbo, out today on Bayonet Records, and Follows singles “Dream of You” (feat. Angel Olsen), “Hurricane.” “Runaway,” sees Bronaugh expressing anxiety about the passage of time, with the swelling arrangements of his twangy guitar and vintage piano painting a portrait of loss that’s just as beautiful as it is tragic. “[‘Runaway’] is about panic attacks, if you’ve ever had one you know how scary it is, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” explains Bronaugh. “But one of the best things about creativity is you can take the scariest, worst parts of life and try to turn them into something cool, and here’s the song I got out of it.”
Limbo is a culmination of Bronaugh’s years of production experience, as he composed, produced, and mixed the project almost entirely by himself, with additional recording from Robin Eaton. Growing up in Nashville, he started playing piano, guitar, and fooled around with a Roland digital multitrack recorder as a high schooler. The Lionlimb project took shape in college, where he met Joshua Jaeger, and the two soon released their 2016 debut LP Shoo and 2018’s Tape Recorder. All the while, the duo traversed the world, playing sold-out shows as part of Angel Olsen’s touring band. Now, Bronaugh is always inspired to make experimental production choices that capture his instincts in the moment. “My favorite part of making music is the mistakes,” he says.
