“It’ll Hurt” by The Flatliners
Last Month, The Flatliners shared a video for track, “It’ll Hurt”. Vocalist/guitarist Chris Cresswell had this to say, “Our brand new video for It’ll Hurt is out now, and if you’ve been paying attention to the New Ruin cinematic universe, it features a very familiar face. Through the videos for Performative Hours, Souvenir and Rat King, you’ve witnessed the swift fall from grace in the once illustrious life of Mr. Ron Regal. Now see where it all began for the late-night-titan-turned-secret-identity-sporting bartender, in our origin story video for It’ll Hurt. Did The Flatliners unknowingly set Ron on his path of self-destruction and his eventual downfall? Only time will tell for sure. But yes. The answer is absolutely yes. It was all our fault. Sorry Ron…”
“It’ll Hurt” appears on The Flatliners’ current LP New Ruin which is now available via Dine Alone/Fat Wreck chords and various streaming services.
New Ruin was Produced by Cresswell along with the rest of the band, the album sees the band attacking each new track with a ferocity and intensity that will surprise even long-time fans. From the monstrously discordant hits that open the album through the de facto thesis statement of “Heirloom,” it’s clear that The Flatliners are angry in a way we’ve never heard before. Recorded at Toronto’s Noble Street Studios and Genesis Sound with long-time friend and engineer Matt Snell, the album sounds both open and immediate, the cumulative effect of two decades performing together.
In support of their latest record, The Flatliners will be spending the next few months touring across Europe, the UK and North America with Canadian dates in Montreal and Winnipeg. The band is set to play Pouzza Fest in Montreal the weekend of May 19th and are set to open for Billy Talent in Winnipeg on August 12th.
