ira glass share new single “Nancy’s Hell”
ira glass have dropped their new single,“nancy’s hell.” The track is now available via Angel Tapes/Fire Talk, and Follows two self-recorded demo EPs released on Bandcamp “nancy’s hell” marks ira glass’ studio debut and first widespread release. “nancy’s hell” was engineered at Chicago’s Electrical Audio, and distills the elements on which the band have built their buzzy reputation: singer/guitarist Lise Ivanova’s provocative vocals, relentless guitar from Sunny Betz, and propulsive percussion from drummer Landon Kerouac.
Of the “nancy’s hell,” ira glass say: “This is one of the first tracks we composed together as a band, so we are very excited to offer it to the world! We are so grateful that our engineer, Brooks Hannon, took a chance on us – recording at Electrical was a dream come true.”
Alongside Ivanova, Betz and Kerouac, ira glass’s current lineup is rounded out by Gavin Swope (bass) and Jill Roth (saxophone). This week, the band embarks on their rust belt tour, which includes stops in Cleveland, Indianapolis and Milwaukee, and a hometown performance at Chicago’s Empty Bottle on Monday, June 10th. Later this month, ira glass will perform at the Logan Square Arts Festival, with more news to come along the way.
