Goat Girl Share “The Crack” Live”
UK band Goat Girl have shared their Rough Trade Session version of “The Crack”, the track is lifted off their forthcoming release On All Fours, available January 29, 2021. Recorded at Nunhead Alhambra, the video was directed by Marisa Gesualdi with sound by Dan Carey and Alexis Smith. Goat Girl say of the track, “‘The Crack’ emerged from an imagined post apocalyptic world whereby people flee into space for a new life on an unruined planet, as the result of the pillaging of Planet Earth.”
On All Fours was produced by Dan Carey (Kate Tempest, Black Midi, Franz Ferdinand) in South London in early 2020, and will be available on Black Double LP, Transparent Pink Double LP & CD. It sees the band veer away from the confrontational lyricism of their debut & indicates Goat Girl’s maturing perspectives in discussing the world’s injustices and social prejudices, using the music to explore global, humanitarian, environmental and mindful wellbeing. Throughout On All Fours, Goat Girl’s frequent use of sci-fi synthesizers, off-beat chord progressions, analogue drum machines, diverse vocal styles and distinct, gritty guitars fuse a musical language that expresses both former characteristics and newer developments of the band’s sound and vision. Goat Girl are: Lottie Cream, Rosy Bones, Holly Hole and L.E.D.
To celebrate the release of On All Fours, the band will be perform new songs from the album live at Rough Trade on January 27th 2021. Further details for the livestream event are here.
