“Get A Life” by The Piano Wire
PIANO WIRE recently revealed a brand new double A-side release, their first studio recordings, and now there’s a video for the track “Get A Life”. The track was produced by Gil Norton and is a melody-driven, riff-fuelled punch in the gut. Renowned photographer and director, Steve Gullick directed the clip, which features vivid spliced live cuts and dancers, all filmed in an S&M dungeon in Elephant and Castle. Quite apt seeing as Piano Wire had deviant images of Dorian Gray in mind when writing the song.
The single is half of a double A-side with the equally gripping ‘All Roads Lead To God’, which is another celebration of music and pleasure, in-keeping with the band’s unfiltered approach to lyricism.
The literary influences (Bukowski, Burroughs, Wilde, Orwell…) are prevalent in Piano Wire’s music, which also takes cultural cues from QOTSA to The Clash, Love to Brainiac.
