Flying Hórses Debut Video For “Comfort
Flying Hórses has shared a new music video for “Comfort.” Along with the news, Flying Hórses have announced her first shows since the release of current LP Reverie
After launching her second album Reverie last February, composer Flying Hórses unveils a music video for the song “Comfort” via Northern Transmissions. Jade Bergeron, the Canadian pianist who works under the Flying Hórses moniker, also announces her first two concerts since the release of her album.
Comfort is the very first song off Reverie that the composer wrote. It came together at the beginning of her journey in Iceland. This hopeful, warm track sets the tone for the opening part of the dream that is Reverie. The composition is about that moment before the uncertainty and confusion take over, the calm before the storm.
The music video that accompanies the song was brought to life by Sacha Lee, a close friend of Bergeron with whom she shares a deep connexion and a mutual love for Iceland. The video for Comfort tells the story of a young woman waking up in a forest, not really certain how and why she’s there. As she begins wandering around, looking for a way out, she takes notice of the beauty that surrounds her and slowly becomes entranced with the magic and comfort that the forest has to offer. The green paths lead the young woman to a mystical lake, where she is faced with the decision to keep searching for her way back or to let go completely and become one with her surroundings.
Besides the release of the music video, Flying Hórses announces her first concerts since the release of Reverie. On May 31st, she is set to perform at St. Luke’s Church in Ottawa, and a few weeks later she will perform at l’Astral, as part of the Montreal Jazz Festival. Accompanied by her piano, she will offer a one-hour performance enhanced by immersive visuals that echo the themes evoked in her music. Expect some creepy mechanical music boxes and a non-traditional, surprising piano concert!
