Building on her critically acclaimed double single “The Way” released on Local Action in 2025, and breakthrough EP flashes in time from 2023, I Was Here For a Moment includes four tracks written and produced by FAUZIA and explores her wide range of influences – from jungle and downtempo to a guitar-driven shoegaze sensibility and the lost futures of a burned-out 1970s optimism, seen through the kaleidoscopic lens of contemporary London.

A vision of FAUZIA’s beguiling sound, all soft-focus production, gossamer vocals and lush arrangements, I Was Here For a Moment represents the singer, producer and DJ’s most compelling and cohesive work to date, capturing the uncanny, dreamlike, slow burn of summer – a tripped-out mood that transcends genre, draped in an ethereal, introverted beauty.

Featuring instrumental contributions from Justin Felton (guitar), Maddie Ashman (guitar), Tommy Impey (bass), Lester St. Louis (bass), Oscar Henfrey (drums), I Was Here For a Moment represents the next chapter for an artist who has shape-shifted between disciplines, encapsulated by her boundary-pushing NTS show over the last decade.
In that time, she has proved just as comfortable producing work for Kelela, Duval Timothy and Tirzah as she is on stage at Berghain, Unsound Festival, Tate Modern, or St Paul’s Cathedral, where she supported Patti Smith in 2024.

The first single, “Without me,” is the beating heart of the EP. A washed-out dream pop love song shot through with a languid grandeur, the track’s bittersweet refrain drifts in on a late summer breeze, FAUZIA’s intoxicating vocals all poise and yearning. At once intimately lo-fi and expansively widescreen, it captures an atmosphere of bleached nostalgia, as hazy guitars hung off the back of a loping bassline resolve into luxurious string arrangements, dying out with the sun in a blur of understated, euphoric melancholy.
