The wait is finally over, Montreal punk heroes DVTR are releasing their album BONJOUR (BIS) (DELUXE EP), the group’s first vinyl and CD release, via Lisbon Lux records. 11 tracks of often surprising, sometimes awkward, and always salvatory soundscapes. Vasectomy for all, ACAB, f*ck the Olympics; these are but a few of the drugged-up anthems sung throughout the disc, a mere glimpse of DVTR’s catchy madness on stage. The group have already toured Europe, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, US, and Canada with only 15 minutes of released music.

DVTR are probably not for twee people, but maybe for lovers of B-52s and fast DIY punk à la Jay Reatard, and a dash of Parquet Courts. Demi Lune & Jean Divorce’s troublemaking duo pours out its bile on often surprising, sometimes awkward, and always salvatory soundscapes. Its unpredictable stage antics break all language barriers, from Mexico to Europe. This is fast music: DVTR is female-fronted, French-speaking and not sweet at all. It repeats, it repeats, it repeats – that’s the only way to get the message across. A simple fuck off to anyone who’d need a reminder before everything burns?
