Dirty Beaches Releases Final LP ‘Stateless’
Since 2005 Alex Zhang Hungtai has been making music under the Dirty Beaches moniker releasing beautiful, emotional and groundbreaking records. Badlands was released in March 2011, an album which received critical acclaim across the board with music fans and critics alike all agreeing there was no one making music like it. After years traveling the world playing songs off Badlands as well as releasing movie scores and several singles, Zhang relocated to Berlin and recorded Drifters/Love Is The Devil, an expansive, aggressive and ultimately heartbreaking album.
Last week on the eve of the release of Dirty Beaches latest achievement Stateless, Zhang announced to fans via twitter that he is retiring the project and will no longer be making music under the name.
