Today Psychic Hotline, the artist-forward record label founded by Sylvan Esso, announces the latest installment of their ongoing singles series: Kieran Hebden and William Tyler’s “Darkness, Darkness” b/w “No Services.” A-side “Darkness, Darkness” is out everywhere today.
“Darkness, Darkness” b/w “No Services” is the first collaboration between producer and electronic musician Hebden, known also as Four Tet, and Tyler, the Nashville-based guitarist and composer.
Today’s single is the latest in the Psychic Hotline singles series, which has previously included Joe Rainey’s “Once the Reaper”; Hand Habits’ “Greatest Weapon” b/w “Under the Water”; Ethan Gruska & Bon Iver’s “So Unimportant”; Flock of Dimes’ “Pure Love” b/w “Time;” Uwade’s “Do You See the Light Around Me?”; Bartees Strange, Ohmme, and Eric Slick’s “Province”; Anjimile’s “Ever New”; and “Neon Blue,” by Amelia Meath and Blake Mills, paired with an instrumental cover of the same song by Sam Gendel.

Psychic Hotline is an artist-run recording company based in Durham, NC, founded by Amelia Meath & Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso alongside their longtime manager, Martin Anderson. Working with Secretly Distribution and Kris Chen (Nonesuch, XL, Domino), the company seeks to create new works and reissue classic albums from their ever-expanding musical community. Led by the artist perspective, Psychic Hotline’s aim is to make the process of creating and releasing albums accessible to those who make them -reflected in radically artist-forward dealmaking, creative support, and innovative marketing approaches.
