singer-songwriter Anna Shoemaker has released “Counting” today via +1 Records, the track is artist’s first new music of the year. Produced & co-written by Jim Alexander, “Counting” follows her previous single “Girl Song.”

Says Anna Shoemaker: “Counting is about keeping score in a game you’ve already lost,” says Anna about the song. “It’s a running tally of every red flag, unanswered text, and excuse you’ve heard from someone who is very, very clearly not good for you. At its core, it’s about the ridiculous disconnect between what we know and what we feel—the fact that someone can disappoint you over and over again, yet somehow you’re still excited when their name lights up your phone.
