TUNIC churn out a reimagined version of a fan favourite on ‘Boss (Revised)’. The new track contains the band’s trademark blend of hardcore punk and mutated, art-damaged heaviness.

Originally released in 2017 as a DIY 7″ that is long-sold out and later compiled on the career to date encompassing “Exhaling”, the band continued to play Boss live and it mutated into something totally different from its original form. The band wanted to capture that new sound and get the underground rock cognoscenti drooling all over their Jesus Lizard shirts and today, it is yours to consume – Jesus Lizard shirt drooling, highly recommended.

Earlier this year, TUNIC released their latest full-length album, WRONG DREAM. Recorded and mixed at Machines With Magnets by Seth Manchester, Wrong Dream is Tunic’s most engaging work to date. While still rife with sounds that will perk the ears of old Tunic fans, and most Amphetamine Reptile or Three One G devotees, Wrong Dream sees Tunic assume an accessible new form – something closer in spirit to Fugazi than to anything that can be neatly boxed as “noise-punk” or “hardcore.” Teeming with raw, vulnerable lyrics, the album’s songs illustrate various forms of trauma, from abuse to tumultuous relationships to the deaths of friends. Schellenberg explains that it is essentially an album about cause and effect – a meditation on the consequences of choices made, and how one’s life can so easily spiral in one direction or the other.
