Bombay Bicycle Club Release Two Lives EP
Bombay Bicycle Club have released two new acoustic reworkings EP, Two Lives. The EP is available to stream or buy now, with the final track, a reworking of recent single “Is It Real” also now streaming. The EP pulls together a handful of new takes of tracks from the band’s current release Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, and a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s classic tune of the EP’s title.
Drummer Suren de Saram explains: “Today we’re releasing the fourth and final track from our Two Lives EP. This one is an acoustic version of ‘Is It Real’ from the last album, and features the wonderful Billie Marten on vocals. “As with the whole EP, this song was recorded during lockdown with everyone recording their parts remotely. It was a result of us trying to adjust to a suddenly empty diary, and struggling to come to terms with everything that was going on in the world.”
Two Lives EP is now available to download on a ‘pay-what-you-want’ basis from the band’s website, with all proceeds going to two specific organisations:
Chineke! (https://www.chineke.org/)
Youth Music (https://www.youthmusic.org.
Bombay Bicycle Club recently shared a Spotify Singles release, including their spell-binding cover of Selena Gomez’s “Lose You To Love Me”. Joined by longstanding collaborator Rae Morris to share vocals on the cover, the band also recorded a complete reimagining of recent single “I Can Hardly Speak” at London’s Abbey Road Studios, which is available to stream.
,Bombay Bicycle Club were preparing themselves for a huge summer of festival performances, including headline slots at All Points East and Truck Festival, before the Coronavirus put paid to those plans before they’d even started.
